Hunt & Gather
Affectionately appointed the name of “Hunter-Gatherer” by a colleague, it alludes to the artist’s keen discernment and the gift of gathering people. The following are services Alexandra offers in connection with stone carving and the building stone industry in addition to her work in the world as a sculptor.
Consultant: Alexandra offers 25 years of experience in the trades of sculpture, carving, and masonry. She is passionate about sharing information and knowledge however she can. Tool resources, stone suppliers and quarries, sculpture restoration, community building, educational venues & curriculum have all been part of her journey. Appointments are available to share ideas, information and build a strategy to assist you in what you hope to accomplish.
Event Coordinator: Alexandra has managed and directed ten annual StoneFest events and organized or instructed at approximately 90 other carving-related workshops and symposia over the course of her career. If you have an event you would like to have input or assistance on, please contact to discuss availability and related fees.
Private or Semi-private Instruction: exclusive 2-day sessions are offered to students to work on a one-on-one intensive. A limited number of sessions are offered per year. These sessions are $150.00 per day and include lunch and use of all tools at the studio. Stone and expendables may be additional (1-3 people). Private instruction is also possible at your home or workshop, for a rate of $250.00/day plus travel expenses. Please contact to inquire.
Workshops: groups of 4 or more would constitute a workshop. These are held at Alexandra’s Whidbey Island studio, or off site and are posted on NEWS & EVENTS. Workshops average $75.00-$300.00 per day depending on venue and accommodations.
